Vikings end Lady Lakers’ championship quest

(Dee Menear photo) AUGUSTA — After defeating Temple Academy 51- 46 in the Class D South girls’ basketball semi-final Thursday, Feb. 22, Rangeley Lady Lakers moved forward to the Class D South girls’ basketball regional final.

Second-seed Rangeley lost to reigning regional champions, and top-seeded Vinalhaven Lady Vikings 59-49 in the regional game, which was held Saturday, Feb. 24 at the Augusta Civic Center.

Lady Laker Winnie LaRochelle netted 16 points, Emily Eastlack shot 14 points, and the team’s only senior Natasha Haley tallied 7 points.
